With almost 1,000 climbing routes and 25 climbing gardens, the Lower Enns Valley has the highest density of climbing gardens in Austria. Perfectly secured limestone walls offer routes for every level, from easy family terrain to challenging lines at the 11th level of difficulty.
The Kampermauer on the Hengstpass is one of the most impressive climbing areas in the region. Over 300 routes at a wall height of around 450 metres as well as selected multi-pitch routes enable alpine climbing with an impressive 360° panorama.
Near Windischgarsten, the Rading climbing crag offers compact, varied routes, while alpine challenges in the Totes Gebirge in Hinterstoder provide intense rock moments.
Most of the climbing gardens are located in the Enns Valley between Losenstein, Laussa, Großraming and Weyer. Along the Enns, rock faces are strung together like pearls - easily accessible and embedded in forests and river valleys.
Because many things are close together here: dense climbing gardens in the Enns Valley, tranquil forests in the Kalkalpen National Park, the alpine backdrop in the south and lively towns such as Steyr. Climbing thus becomes part of a larger whole - in the heart of Upper Austria.
The spectrum ranges from easy, enjoyable routes to demanding tours at the 11th level of difficulty. Beginners and experienced climbers alike will find suitable challenges.
Many access points can be reached in just a few minutes. This makes the Enns Valley ideal for half days at the crag - or for combining with hiking, cycling or a detour to Steyr.
In addition to single-pitch routes, some areas also offer well-secured multi-pitch routes with a sport climbing character. Ideal for training endurance and tact on the rock.
