Bike & Hike in 360° Alpenland

Bike & Hike in Pyhrn-Priel combines cycling and hiking experiences to create a harmonious day in the great outdoors. 19 varied tours provide a breath of fresh air and unforgettable mountain moments. Cycle along the signposted route network to the specially built changeover stations. These offer bike racks, overview maps and free e-bike charging facilities (please bring your own lock and charger).

Here you can park your bike safely and discover the serviced mountain pastures & huts on foot. alpine pastures & huts as well as culinary experiences, panoramic heights and quiet natural spots. This turns every tour into a conscious nature experience in 360° Alpine country.

Use the changing station
At our changing stations you can safely store your bike and charge the battery (bring your own lock and charger!). From here you can continue on foot. In this way, we maintain the hiking trails and create safety for nature and people.

Respecting each other
Whether by bike or on foot - in our region, we expect people to treat each other, nature and animals with respect. You can also help us to maintain this fragile balance. Please pay attention to the signs.

Please take care of yourself
Be aware of your limits and do not go on tours that are beyond your ability. A good rest stop and breaks are an elementary part of our tours.

Alpine pastures and huts

In the 360° Alpine region, mountain pastures and huts have been a living cultural space for centuries. Farmers, shepherds and dairymaids continue to manage them with experience and care - in harmony with nature and the seasons. This preserves the species-rich flora and fauna.

Those who stop off here experience the landscape and its origins at the same time - with regional Alpine delicacies in one of the managed huts, with views of meadows, forests and peaks in the heart of Upper Austria.

Information about Bike & Hike in 360° Alpenland

Bike & Hike is a combination of cycling and hiking. You cycle to a changing station, park your bike there and continue hiking from there. This combination allows you to cover longer distances and experience nature in a variety of ways.
You also save yourself the hassle of looking for a parking space and parking fees.

 

360° Alpenland offers an impressive mountain landscape with a variety of well-developed cycle paths and hiking trails. The region is ideal for enjoying a combination of sporting activity and experiencing nature.

For Bike & Hike you need a bike (whether your own or hired), a helmet and sturdy shoes. You should generally be in good physical condition.

The tours can, for example, include a longer bike tour and a shorter hike or vice versa.

Yes, 360° Alpenland has a well-developed network of signposted cycling and hiking trails. These routes are only marked with a special Bike & Hike symbol on the hiking and cycling map and often lead to idyllic Alpine pastures and viewpoints. The usual hiking and cycling signposting must be observed on site. The changing stations are signposted as such, have an overview board for the hiking routes and a bike stand to park your bike (bring your own lock!). You can charge your e-bike free of charge at most of the changing stations (bring your own charger!).

The length of the Bike & Hike routes varies greatly and can range from short, easy tours to challenging full-day tours. There is something for every fitness level.
Please also note the difficulty level of the bike and hiking tour. This way you can choose the tour that suits you best.

Yes, e-bikes are ideal for Bike & Hike. They make it possible to cover longer distances and greater differences in altitude.

  • Weather: Check the weather forecast in advance.
  • Equipment: In addition to your bike and helmet, pack sufficient provisions, water, weatherproof clothing, sun and rain protection and a first aid kit.
  • Fitness: Realistically assess your physical fitness and choose a route that suits your ability level.
  • Maps: orientate yourself with the 360° Alpenland hiking and cycling map or a GPS app.
  • Versatility: Cycling and hiking go hand in hand - two forms of exercise, one harmonious day in nature.
