Traditional cots & cot exhibitions

in the heart of Upper Austria

Nativity scene exhibitions in Steyr and the surrounding area are a special highlight during Advent. Historic nail-smith cots, artistic box cots and unique cot collections - with carved figures or made of clay, brought together from numerous countries - show the whole range of this representation. One of the largest nativity scenes can also be seen here, as well as life-size open-air representations.

The tradition of making nativity scenes has been cultivated with care and dedication in Upper Austria for around 400 years.

The district of Christkindl in Steyr is known far beyond the borders of Upper Austria. The Christkindl post office answers thousands of letters every year.

A few hours are often enough to visit the market. If you want to combine culture, city tours, wellness and nature, it's best to plan a weekend in 360° Alpenland. The compact location between Pyhrn-Priel, Kalkalpen National Park and the towns allows for varied winter days without long journeys.

Advent in 360° Alpenland is quiet and personal. Historic squares, snow-covered roofs and the scent of spices create a setting in which conversations can take place. It's less about staging and more about community - something you can feel in the towns and villages of Upper Austria.

An Advent holiday in 360° Alpenland combines many things in a small space: the mountain world between Pyhrn and Priel, the tranquillity of the Kalkalpen National Park, the thermal warmth in Bad Hall and the old town flair of Steyr. The result is a pre-Christmas season that brings together nature, culture and mindfulness - right in the heart of Upper Austria.
