Fair play rules for hiking and mountaineering

For a respectful coexistence in nature

Nature is always there for us. So it is only fair that we are also there for nature.

Nature sustains, nourishes and provides recreation. To keep it that way, it needs attention and mutual respect - towards the landscape, wildlife and the people who live and work here. Here are some tips and advice for your adventure in nature:

  • Entering the forest for recreational purposes is permitted. Picking mushrooms and berries is okay.
We use the marked trails. Restricted areas are taboo.
  • To cross meadows and fields, we use existing paths to avoid damaging crops.
Meadows and fields are reserved for grazing livestock and agriculture.
  • At dusk, the game grazes.
Because we don't want to disturb them, we keep quiet and pay attention to designated wildlife rest areas.
  • Dogs are great companions.
We make sure that they do not cause stress to wild and grazing animals.
  • Speaking of grazing animals:
We keep a safe distance, refrain from contact and feeding and close pasture fence gates behind us.
  • Rubbish has no place in nature.
That's why we dispose of packaging, cigarette butts, dog poo bags etc. in the nearest rubbish bin.
  • What must be, must be.
We still look for a place to relieve ourselves where it won't disturb anyone.
  • Forest fires are an increasing issue.
Smouldering cigarette butts are a forest fire hazard. We only sit around campfires at designated barbecue and fire pits.
  • Illegal parking causes trouble.
Roadside parking, annoyed neighbours, parking tickets and reports: None of this is necessary. That's why we start from the designated car park or travel in a climate-friendly way by public transport.
